Jared Bates

Managing Director – Operations

Jared Bates brings nearly 2 decades of experience to the Evertree team. He began his career in the early 2000’s at Castle, Inc., a real estate investment firm, where he learned the art of balancing transaction diligence and analytics with speed to market in the burgeoning commercial and residential real estate market present at that time. He helped the team close on countless financially accretive transactions during that time, but more importantly, served as an instrumental team member through the financial and real estate market turmoil in the late 2000’s. Jared was responsible for engineering and successfully executing upon a strategy ensuring liquidity, security and diversification of the company’s portfolio during this tumultuous time. On the heels of his work at Castle, Jared went on to found a commercial and residential investment company, Frontier Investments. He also founded and managed Summit Capital, a debt fund specializing in bridge loans to real estate investors. Both of these organizations have been able to consistently deliver outsized returns for their investors and stakeholders over the past decade.

Jared is a driven, multi-faceted, and proven investor who has gained extensive real estate experience over the course of his career, including but not limited to: raising investor capital through multiple private placements, entitling and developing land, managing single and multi-family value-add and ground up projects, and underwriting thousands of potential deals. He possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and has extensive leadership and problem-solving skills. He has been a key team member in the acquisition, development, and/or sale of transactions approaching $100 million in real estate.

Jared has 7 energetic children with his amazing wife Julie. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in business management. He is also an instrument rated commercial pilot and enjoys recounting the occasional “near death experience” from his days teaching student pilots.

Ryan Bates

Managing Director – Development & Construction

Ryan Bates brings a wealth of industry knowledge and hands-on experience to the Evertree leadership team. He has been around real estate and construction projects for as long as he can remember. From working as a hired hand on job sites during his teenage years to earn money for college, to now serving as the President of one of the premier commercial and custom residential developers in the Southwestern US, Ryan has literally had his hand in every facet of this dynamic and evolutionary industry for over 20 years. In addition to his role on the leadership team at Evertree, Ryan serves as the President of Beacon Rock Custom Builders, a building company he founded in the late 2000’s – at the start of the great recession. Ryan has successfully led the company over the past 15 years through various market cycles, demonstrating visionary, bold and decisive leadership qualities in each economic environment. During the recession, he directed the team to employ strategic and disciplined project selection, and  as the market shifted back out of the recession, he worked with investors to redirect portions of investment profits into raw land and ground up construction, simultaneously enabling the company to be repositioned as a client-facing luxury contractor. Under Ryan’s leadership, the company has been able to outperform the market, delivering consistent and sustainable returns for its investors and stakeholders.

An experienced operator, Ryan has overseen the construction, improvement and/or market repositioning of almost 200 investment properties. He has extensive experience coordinating consultants, contractors, suppliers, and city officials to ensure projects are completed on budget and on schedule. He has also performed detailed financial underwriting on real estate investment projects totaling nearly $50 million dollars, all of which have turned a profit for investors.

Ryan graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in business management. He has a wonderful wife and 2 of the most amazing daughters in the world. He is also a singer/songwriter and enjoys performing at local venues in his spare time.

Jason Bates

Managing Director – Finance/Investor Relations

Jason Bates has more than 23 years of public and private company executive leadership experience spanning a variety of industries including Transportation and Logistics, Aerospace, Commercial and Residential Investments, and Capital Management. He has held executive leadership roles in several multi-billion dollar publicly traded companies, more recently specializing in turnaround opportunities of financially levered or distressed companies. Jason joins Evertree Investments after serving as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Daseke, Inc., a $2 Billion publicly traded, multi-faceted transportation and logistics company, where he began working in early 2020. Prior to joining Daseke, he served for 3 years as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of USAT Capacity Solutions, a North American freight carrier and logistics brokerage provider. Prior to joining USAT, Jason served as Vice President of Finance and Investor Relations Officer at Swift Transportation Company, where he held a variety of sales, operations, finance, treasury and accounting roles with increasing scope and responsibility since joining the company in 2003. Jason began his career in corporate finance at Honeywell International, where he spent several years in the Aerospace Division. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Arizona State University.

Jason is a proven financial, operational and board ready executive with experience in public company equity offerings, financial restructuring and leveraged buy-outs, multi-billion dollar capital markets transactions, debt, treasury and cash management, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, strategic planning, forecasting and analysis, and many other general financial, operational, sales and board level activities; who possesses strategic vision, excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, as well as extensive leadership, staff development, and process improvement training / experience.

Jason and his wife Kimberly enjoy traveling with their 3 college-aged children, and in his free time Jason can be found golfing, hiking and skiing or snowboarding.
